Lido degli Estensi

History and facts

Lido degli Estensi is the most touristic location among the seven Lidi di Comacchio. Its name comes from the Estense family, who ruled Ferrara for a long time.

Its shore is one of the longest in Italy, thanks to the sedimentation brought there by sirocco costal storms and the dam that separates Lido degli Estensi from Porto Garibaldi.

Lido degli Estensi is the most fashionable Lido and is very popular among young people: they come to beaches and outdoor venues every summer in their thousands, and take part in beach parties and events.

The town centre is just a short walk from the hotels and is famous for its boutiques and trendy spots along Carducci Boulevard. Carducci Boulevard is the main street in Lido degli Estensi, but also the economic heart of the seven Lidi di Comacchio and the whole seaside tourism in Comacchio and in Emilia-Romagna.

From the tree-lined avenues and pine forest you can reach the beach, where the seaside resorts are equipped with the latest facilities and all modern comforts.

Not only sun-tan: you can take part to sports tournaments, group activities and dance and gym courses organized by the various animation teams at the beach.

Pools on the sand, outdoor wellness centers and relax areas with live music are at bathers’ disposal before the cocktail hour arrives and calls everybody for a toast and to kick off evenings full of fun.

In the evenings the atmosphere is even more sparkling and the many opportunities for fun are able to satisfy all tastes.

Seafood restaurants and refined places where you can spend nice evenings, discotheques and disco-pubs where to enjoy all night long, beach parties and concerts in the open air: there are the many ways of fun and entertainment that tourists can find by night in Lido degli Estensi.

The touristic harbor Marina degli Estensi is the flagship of Lido degli Estensi: you can get there from Porto Garibaldi canal and it is a safe place for boaters, provided with modern equipment.
 

What to visit

Lido degli Estensi is an awesome starting point to make excursion in the other six Lidos, in the wonderful and suggestive Comacchio, in the Po Delta Park and Comacchio Valleys.
