The 7 Lidi

The Lidi di Comacchio are seaside resorts that stretch for about 25 kilometers along the Ferrara coast, totally inserted in the Regional Park of the Po Delta.

Lido degli Estensi
On the other side of the harbor you can see the modern Lido degli Estensi, a location full of fun and entertainment. In 1950 it was transformed from a pinewood into a touristic area.
It is one of the most popular Lidos and next to its great sandy shore you can find several seaside resorts.
There are plenty of choices for shopping lovers: Carducci Boulevard is illuminated the whole evening, and, with its arches, obelisks, neoclassical gazebos and brickwork paving, is full of shops and night clubs.
Recently, next to the town entrance, a modern and well equipped touristic harbor has been built, named “Marina degli Estensi”.

Lido di Spina
After Lido degli Estensi, direction Ravenna, you find Lido di Spina, named after the Etruscan city Spina found in Comacchio. Here there are great cottages, deep in quiet and nature and close to the huge shore.
Lido di Spina offers also night entertainment in its fashionable nightspots, physical activities at the sports complex "The Travone", bike rides in the beautiful pine forest. Jewel in the crown hosted in Lido di Spina is the Casa Museo Remo Brindisi. Built in the early seventies, the museum hosts about two thousand works of the major national and international art forms of the 20th century.

Porto Garibaldi,
Once upon a time Porto Garibaldi was a fishermen village called “Magnavacca”. Its current name comes from Giuseppe Garibaldi: the famous condottiere landed there in 1849.
Today, as well as being a friendly resort which welcomes tourists to its beach, it is also an important port which accommodates both fishing boats and motorboats. From here you can go deep-sea mackerel fishing or take a boat trip and explore the Po Delta.
In this place, partly by now residential, the best dishes base places of fish can be tasted.

Lido delle Nazioni
This beach was once nothing but a long stretch of sand and sea and was known as Pialazza, or "Pialassa". Today, it is flanked by broad avenues which offer a range of shops and restaurants close to the beach, Lido delle Nazioni is a tourist resort which offers plenty of opportunities for fun and entertainment.
Suitable especially for young people, there is a discotheque, and, for sports lovers, all-weather soccer fields and a sailing school (located in the nearby Lake delle Nazioni), where you can go canoeing, rowing and water skiing.
There are also two riding stables where you can ride Camargue-Delta horses.

Lido degli Scacchi and Lido di Pomposa
Lido di Pomposa and Lido degli Scacchi are just a few kilometres from Porto Garibaldi. These havens of tranquillity are ideal for family holidays.

Lido di Volano
The northernmost Lido is Lido di Volano, once a fishing village, in particular there were “fiocinini” (fishermen using the harpoon) and poachers.
It is completely deep into nature, thanks to its proximity to the Po river banks.
It is the perfect location for those people who love the greenery and the quiet in the open air; its pinewood offers the chance to make bike and horse rides in its wonderful hinterland.
